Marshal and Michelle

A few months back we traveled to Washington, DC to help judge the “Just for Kids State Dinner” recipe contest.

We thought that was the ultimate in cool … until we were invited to attend — AND SPEAK — at the State Dinner in August! Nothing could get better than that.

And then we were told the biggest news of all… Marshall would be introduce the First Lady herself.

Take a look. It’s Marshall gushing and Mrs. Obama enjoying every minute of it.

The Portion Size Me journey just keeps getting better and better!

Taste of Atlanta

The Portion Size Me family had a blast at Taste of Atlanta last week. Marshall was at his best talking to kids and families about simple ways to be healthier.

If we met you there in person, leave us a comment saying hello. If you missed it (or don’t leave near Atlanta), take a look at the videos below to see what Marshall cooked up.

Our next stop is The Ricki Lake Show! We’ll be on Tuesday’s show. Use this link to find out when it plays in your area (click on “Where to

The First 14 Days

Rather than regale you with tales from the road, here are our thoughts on the first two weeks of travel. Next time you see us, be prepared for the long versions!

Dan says: The Airstream is still behind us! Jordan says: I got to chase alligators! Marshall says: I like meeting kids at “snack wars”! Alex says: I’m so proud of us for being adventurous (or not very smart)

BAD

Jordan says: Too much time with Marshall! Dan says: I got the cleaning the sewer job. Marshall says: Too much time in the car. Alex says: Always wet, sandy,

Introducing The ‘Peace Meal’

Lessons & Traditions: Road Trip Style

Teaching moment: Driving through the plains of Oklahoma without that crucial “modern conveniences” had me thinking about the first settlers in that area. Those brave men and women roughed it without so much as ice. I wondered what they

Lessons From The Pros

Lessons Learned

I observed a wonderful thing while at the Today Show in NYC. The producers, camera crew, sound crew, lighting crew, and hosts moved like clockwork in the surprisingly small studio at Rockefeller Plaza. Everybody had his or her job, did it well, and they trusted that others would do their jobs well, too.

Ann Curry, who seems soft and intense on camera, was quite bubbly and danced her way between camera men from set to set. She was relaxed and not stressed by the
